Department Of General & Minimal Access Surgery

The department of General and minimal access surgery offers state of the art minimally invasive approach in the form of laparoscopic & endoscopic surgeries. The department offers a wide variety of surgeries including ‘scarless’ endoscopic thyroid surgery, minimal access cancer and non – cancer surgeries.

Laparascopy is a minimal access technique of surgery, also known as “key –hole” surgery. The surgery is performed with the help of specialised instruments and a camera called the laparoscope introduced via 5-10 mm incisions on the patient. The entire surgery is performed through these key-hole incisions, unlike open surgery with big/long incisions that lead to a prominent scar.
